The keypad uses words, numbers, and symbols to show the status of the security system. When several events occur, the keypad shows each event in order of priority. The display shows five lines, 21 characters per line.

 

Keys
Each keypad has 10 numeric keys, 5 navigation keys, and eight softkeys. When pressed, keys enable keypad backlighting and emit a muted beep. Use the eight softkeys to select a menu and associated functions.

Audible tones
The keypad has a built-in speaker that produces several distinct warning tones. The tones are differentiated so that the user can recognize an event simply by hearing its associated tone. The keypad backlight illuminates when it emits an audible tone.
Users can use a passcode to silence the tone.

  • Exit warning. The keypad emits an intermittent beep tone during exit delay.
  • Invalid button buzz. When an invalid button, or sequence of buttons, is pressed, the keypad emits a flat buzz tone.
  • Keypad encoding tone. The keypad emits a muted beep tone as each button is pressed to indicate that the entry was accepted.
  • Trouble buzzer. When a trouble event occurs, such as a service alert, the keypad emits a two-tone warble until you enter a programmed passcode with the appropriate authority.
  • Watch tone. A single clean tweedle tone alerts the user anytime a watch point is faulted.

The B925F Fire Keypad is a fully supervised SDI2 device for combined fire/burglary applications. Each keypad has backlit keys, a display with user-adjustable brightness that shows system messages, and a sounder. The sounder emits distinct condition
tones to alert you to a fire alarm, a fire trouble, or fire supervisory events as they occur. The keypad includes fire status indicators and fire function keys.

LCD display
The keypad uses words, numbers, and symbols to show the status of the security system. When several events occur, the keypad shows each event in order of priority. Keys Each keypad has 10 number keys, 4 Intrusion function keys, and 5 navigation keys.

Pet friendly Selectivity ( WP models only)

Motion Analyzer II Processing
Motion Analyzer II uses multiple thresholds and timing windows to analyze timing, amplitude, duration, and polarity of signals to make an alarm decision. It tolerates extreme levels of heat and light disturbances caused by heaters and air conditioners, hot and cold drafts, sunlight, lightning, and moving headlights.

PIR Supervision
PIR operation is checked electronically approximately every 12 hours. If the circuit fails, the LED pulses four times and the trouble output activates.

Motion Monitor Supervision
Confirms the detector has a clear view of the detection area. A trouble condition is indicated if the detector has not alarmed at least once during a selected time period.

LED Indicator
LED flashes to indicate trouble condition. Internal Noise Voltage Test Pins provide precise pattern location and background disturbance evaluation using a standard analog meter.

Three Sensitivity Settings
  • Standard Sensitivity: Recommended setting for maximum false alarm immunity. Tolerates environmental extremes on this setting. Not recommended for long range or barrier coverage patterns.
  • Intermediate Sensitivity: Recommended setting for any location where an intruder is expected to cover only a small portion of the protected area. Tolerates normal environments on this setting.
  • High Sensitivity: Fast response to intruder signals. For use in quiet environments where fluctuations in heat or light are not anticipated.

 

Installation/configuration notes

Select a location that is most likely to intercept an intruder moving across the coverage pattern. Ensure the mounting surface is solid and vibration free. Avoid hot or cold drafts, direct sunlight, heat sources, windows, air conditioning outlets, and small animals. The DS307 does not detect through glass.

First Step Processing (FSP)
The DS940Q combines two PIRs that each use First Step Processing (FSP). First step processing (FSP) responds to human intruders while ignoring other sources of motion, minimizing false alarms. You do not need to select the sensitivity levels for the application because FSP adjusts the detector’s sensitivity based
on signal amplitude, polarity, slope, and timing. Each sensor is processed individually, and both sensors must agree there is an alarm before the alarm relay is activated.

such as noise spikes and small animals are ignored. Quad detectors also provide superior catch performance versus a standard PIR or dual-technology detector. microcontroller analyzes and compares the sensor data to make the most intelligent alarm decisions in the security industry.

Tri-focus Optics Technology

Functions
PIR Signal Processing
Motion Analyzer II uses multiple thresholds and timing windows to analyze timing, amplitude, duration, and polarity of signals to make an alarm decision. The detectors tolerate extreme levels of heat and light from heaters and air conditioners, hot and cold drafts, sunlight, lightning, and moving headlights. There are
three sensitivity settings.

Test Features
Externally visible, LED indicates alarm each technology independently.

Pet Immunity
The detector is able to distinguish between signals caused by humans and signals caused by pets such as a dog up to 13 kg (30 lb) or two dogs at 27 kg (60 lb) or up to ten cats. This provides immunity to false alarms while maintaining proper catch performance of human targets.

Draft and Insect Immunity
The sealed optical chamber provides immunity to drafts and insects.

Battery Life Extension feature (PIR and TriTech)
In the normal operating mode, an alarm can be transmitted only after three (3) minutes have passed
since the previous alarm restoral. This 3 minute lockout time reduces unnecessary RF transmissions in high traffic areas, thereby extending battery life.

Installation/configuration notes
Mounting Considerations
Surface or corner mount the PIR at a height between 2.1 m (7.0 ft) and 2.7 m (9.0 ft) high when installing the PIR, and 2.1 m (7.0 ft) and 2.6 m (8.5 ft) high when installing the PIR-C. When installing the PIR, the plastics are specifically designed to allow wall tamper protection in a corner mount installation. The detector can be mounted:
  • On a flat wall (surface, semi-flush), with the optional B335 Swivel-mount Bracket, or with the optional B328 Gimbal-mount Bracket.
  • In a corner (the junction of two perpendicular walls).
  • On the ceiling with the optional B338 Ceiling-mount
  • Bracket.

 

Additional considerations include:

  • Temporarily mount the detector using double-sided
    tape, and test it for both detector coverage and RF
    range from the desired location before mounting it
    permanently.
  • Mount the detector where an intruder will most likely
    cross through the coverage pattern.
  • Do not mount in areas with large metallic surfaces
    such as heating ducts or electrical wiring which may
    inhibit the sensor’s RF signals from reaching the
    control panel receiver.
  • Do not mount the detector outdoors or where direct
    sunlight can reach it.
  • In pet immune applications, do not mount where pets
    can climb into the field of view of the upper zones,
    which are not immune to pets.
